Prada Sunglasses

Prada is a brand that is inexorably linked with quality. Founded in 1913 by Italian fashion designer Mario Prada, the company began as a simple leather goods shop in Milan. Though Mario Prada initially opposed women in business, his daughter and granddaughter took over the business in the latter half of the 20th Century. This helped position the company as a modern, women-driven fashion brand.

In the late 1970s, the company released a line of hard nylon backpacks and handbags. With time, these would become the brand’s first major success. Prada continued to expand throughout the 1980s, entering the international market in Paris, New York City, and Madrid. The company also opened another location in Florence, Italy. Around this time, Prada expanded beyond luggage and handbags to create shoes and women’s clothing.

Prada launched its first line of ready-to-wear clothing for men in the mid-1990s. Soon, Prada became the center of the fashion world. Its unique marketing techniques and drive for innovation led the company to huge success at the end of the 20th Century. Around this time, Prada introduced its first collections of eyewear.

In 2000, Prada teamed up with the company’s sister brand, Miu Miu, and eyewear manufacturer, Luxottica, to release its first eyewear collections. Most of their eyewear products are fashion-forward shades and sunglasses for both men and women. Today, you can find Prada sunglasses for sale online and in luxury stores around the world.

Prada Sunglass Collections

Prada designs and manufactures sunglasses to fit just about any style or occasion. The Cat Eye and Catwalk collections are both designed for women. These collections feature upturned endpieces that recall popular women’s eyewear of the 1950s and 1960s.

Next, the Linea Rossa, Sport, and Aviator sunglasses offer unisex designs for people who want to live more active lifestyles. The Linea Rossa collection is both fashionable and practical, with a lense bridge creating one large, protective surface. Alternatively, the Sport and Aviator collections offer more variety, with top bars for durability and nose pads for enhanced comfort.

As the names imply, the Round and Square collections adhere to basic geometric shapes in their respective designs. Round glasses feature rounded lenses and thick rims. While Round sunglasses rely on soft lines and curves, the Square collection is all about hard, straight lines. Some glasses in the Square collection use symmetrical square lenses, while others feature flared endpieces.

Finally, the Baroque collection is easily the most unique and extravagant design of all of Prada’s sunglasses. The Baroque sunglasses use butterfly frames and curly temples that provide ample coverage, without sacrificing style. These sunglasses come in a variety of color schemes, including black and brown, yellow and black, and red and yellow.
